FAQs

How do I join an Online Community Discussion Group?
Online Community discussion groups are directly tied to your participation on various ASPPH networking, leadership and engagement groups, i.e., ASPPH Committees, Sections, Assemblies, etc. Not all groups are currently active on Online Community, however. To inquire about participation, please reach out to your ASPPH staff lead or contact us on the form provided.

How do I reset my password?
To reset your password, select “Forgot Password” on the login page and follow the instructions on the screen to reset your password or to set it for the first time.

I can't remember my username. What do I do?
If you cannot remember your username, please contact us at info@aspph.org.

How do I create a discussion and post a comment?
To create a discussion, select the appropriate group from the “My Groups” list on the Online Communities homepage. Select “Create Discussion”, enter the title of the discussion, the body of the discussion and select a category to place it under. If you choose, you may also upload a file to the discussion (note: a description of the file is required for upload). Select “Create”. To post a comment on a discussion, select “Add a Comment”, enter text, and select “Add”.

How do I add file(s)?
Select or create a discussion and under “Upload a File”, enter file description (required for upload), choose a file, and select “Upload File”.

How do I reply to a discussion and how do I reply to a discussion by email?
To reply to a discussion, select “Add a Comment”, enter text and select “Add”. To reply to a discussion from an email notification, select “Reply to Discussion”.

How do I change my Online Community notification preferences?
Select “Notification Preferences” from the dropdown menu under your name. Set your preferences by group and select “Update”.

I'm looking for a discussion, comment, or file. How do I search for it?
Select "Search" on the primary navigation bar. Enter your search term to find what you are looking for. The search function will look for matches in discussions, comments, and file descriptions within all your groups.

I'm a member of an ASPPH Section that's not listed on the "My Groups" page — does ASPPH have me tagged correctly to each of my groups?
Since ASPPH Online Community is a new enhancement as of Spring 2019, onboarding of ASPPH networking and professional development groups to the platform is not complete. If you don't see a particular group listed on your "My Groups" page, that group may not yet be fully onboarded. For questions about access to specific Online Community groups, please use the Contact Us form on our Support page.
